MOTHERS DAY, GARDENING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT

For Mothers Day 2012, in lieu of gift-getting (by request), Annie and I headed to Twin Falls to help put in her parents’ vegetable garden. (We did get her mom a card containing some $1 Idaho Lottery scratch tickets, and she won $50, though!) Gardening was a fair amount of of work, but worth every second … Especially in a few months when it bears fruit (er, veggies). After we finished, we posed for an American Gothic-inspired photo.

When we got home, we had just enough energy and determination to do a little improvement of our own home, so we made a few stops at Home Depot and put in some raised flower beds around the trees in our front yard. Not too shabby-looking, if I say so myself.

CAUGHT OUR PETS BEING CUTE

They are (almost) always cute, but for a rare moment, our boys weren’t begging for food, peeing or pooping on the carpet, or being naughty in some other way. So this photo seemed worth sharing.

Expect a much more in-depth post the next time we catch them playing poker.

AND THEN IT WAS KENADIE’S BIRTHDAY, TOO

It’s become a habit to make videos for one niece every year on her birthday, so now that the other niece is turning one year old, it’s time for her first video, too!

Unfortunately the same rules apply — lots of omitted footage from the missing camera, but hey, oh well, I tried to make it work, anyway. Happy Birthday, Kenadie!

KYLIE’S 3RD BIRTHDAY VIDEO

Anne and I were down in Twin Falls again last weekend for our niece Kylie’s birthday party. And as I did it for her 1st and 2nd birthdays, I was compelled to construct a short video for her 3rd as well. Unfortunately, I have temporarily misplaced our camera and therefore only had access to pics and footage from the past few months via my phone, but it still seems to have worked out OK…

BOISE = BEAUTIFUL

Yesterday I spied a gorgeous view of the Boise foothills and was reminded, despite forgetting to look around as often as I should, just how beautiful is the city in which I live.

I was also reminded of how much I love my iPhone. And that I probably shouldn’t be taking photos while driving.

CLASSIC SHOT OF BILL MURRAY AT PEBBLE BEACH GOLF TOURNAMENT

A a stellar photographer friend of mine — Monterey, California-based Randy Tunnell — annually shoots the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament not too far from where he lives. (When I was in the area for a work shoot, he drove me past the Pebble Beach course. Wowee — it’s GORGEOUS, even for a non-golfer like myself.)

Anyway, I was reviewing some of his shots on the Pebble Beach Web site and saw some really funny ones of Bill Murray, who is quite the amateur golfer, and his costume choice from the event. So Randy sent me a blown up version of a good shot, below. [Click on the image to see it full-size.]

It’s pretty classic, so I thought I’d share it here. Only a nut like Bill Murray would ever wear a getup like that while golfing. And that’s why I freaking love him.

Thanks for sharing, Randy!

NEW YEARS IN UTAH!

Annie said not to upload any pics or videos of her, but since when do I listen?! :) These were too good not to post! We were in Pleasant View, Utah (outside Ogden) to ring in the new year with Steve and Anita, and Aunt Patty, Uncle Gary and Cousin Mandy.

A MUY BUENO MEXICAN CHRISTMAS PARTY

Out of the country for one final night and making it count at the Mexican country team party. A little Michael Jackson impersonation, anyone? Don’t let anybody tell you Mexicans don’t know how to party. Because they do. Hard.

IN MEXICO AGAIN…

I’m down in Mexico for work again, this time in the lovely city of Leon, Guanajuato. Not much to say: Long days of meetings followed by checking emails in my hotel room too late into the night followed by sleeping in a bed that’s not my own with my head on a pillow that makes my neck hurt. Shot a nice pic from our office window today, though. And I DO love my job… And my wife, who I miss quite a lot.

TIM’S BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Annie and I hosted some friends tonight for Tim’s birthday. There were some ridiculous games, beer pong and a piñata. It’s 1:38 a.m. MST and the party is still going. Need I say more?

Happy birthday, buddy!
